ZyXEL
Founded in 1989, ZyXEL is a popular router manufacturer. ZyXEL routers are easy to navigate and setup. They are of high quality and speed.
To Open a Port on a ZyXEL Router
Typically, ZyXEL routers are fairly easy to configure, but the port forwarding section in older models is a little more challenging. In older models, a ZyXEL router refers to a port forward as a NAT/SUA Server, which can be a bit confusing. When creating a port forward you need to make sure SUA Only is marked. If it is not marked you cannot continue until you have made some major changes to your network. This is not normally a problem for newer models however and you should have no problem configuring your ZyXEL router.
If your exact ZyXEL router is not in the list below, we recommend trying our ZyXEL VMG3926-B10A guide. This guide should get you that open port you want on just about any recent ZyXEL router.

Use a VPN Instead
Have you considered using a VPN instead of forwarding a port? For most users, a VPN is a much simpler and more secure choice than forwarding a port.
We use and recommend NordVPN because not only is it the fastest VPN, it includes a new feature called Meshnet that makes forwarding a port no longer necessary for most applications. With NordVPN Meshnet, you can connect to your devices from anywhere in the world, completely secure, over a highly encrypted VPN tunnel.
